"Our Samoyed 'Tundra' was my inspiration,"
Kennedy explains. "She's extremely
intelligent and beautiful, but even beyond
that there's something about her deep,
dark eyes. I decided to capture the unique
Samoyed look, both literally and
figuratively." To accomplish that, Kennedy
had to expand his artistic horizons.
"Up until now, I've used watercolors; this
is my first published acrylic," he says.
"I've painted this so that light is reflected
off the white of the art board, through the
paint, to get a pure, rich color." Through
Kennedy's technique, this soulful Samoyed
takes on a life that only an artist can
